THE ISLAND mixed material, mechanics 95/120/200cm h/l/w 2018

The marionettes are synchronized and selfgoverning, They have built-in breathing and movement. The technique is a meeting between a 300 years old Japanese puppet tradition and mechatronics.

The technique of the puppets is developed by engineer Myles Severud and a group of technologists at the KTH. The skeletons of the puppets are made by puppet-maker Thomas Lundquist.

Dockornas

skelett har tillverkats av dockmakare Thomas Lundquist.
